Cancer Walk Passing Through Coconut Grove

Businesses in the Coconut Grove Business Improvement District are advised to plan ahead for a temporary traffic interruption on Saturday, March 14, as the Kaseya Bounce Back from Cancer walk passes through the area — resulting in rolling road closures in the Coconut Grove BID area between 6 a.m. and noon.

The event, benefiting Baptist Health Miami Cancer Institute and held in partnership with the Miami HEAT, raises funds and awareness for cancer research, patient care and survivorship programs. The route begins at Miami Cancer Institute and proceeds toward the Kaseya Center, with participants traveling through several municipalities including South Miami, Coral Gables and the City of Miami.

Traffic control in our area will be coordinated by City of Miami Police. Streets will remain open to traffic until walkers approach each location, at which point lanes will temporarily close. Officers will allow vehicles to pass during breaks in the participants, and roadways will reopen progressively following the final walkers.

BID businesses are encouraged to advise employees, delivery services and early-morning patrons of the potential for brief delays during the event window.

While the temporary closures may cause short-term inconvenience, organizers note that the event supports an important cause — bringing the community together to support cancer patients, survivors and ongoing medical research at Baptist Health Miami Cancer Institute.
