BOARD OF DIRECTORS NOMINATION FORM
On April 25th, the City Commission unanimously passed Ordinance 13833 which amended Article 2.11.17 of the City of Miami Code to “incorporate the Coconut Grove Business Improvement District’s Board of Director’s (BID Board) recommended amendments, which were submitted to and approved by a majority of affected property owners, reducing the number of voting members of the BID Board from 19 members to 9 members.”

All interested and eligible parties should submit their letter of interest to the Coconut Grove BID via director@grovebid.com by May 29, 2019.
PARKING WAIVER APPLICATION
The City of Miami allows property owners in the Coconut Grove Improvement Trust Fund Area (BID) to obtain a Certificate of Waiver, by making payments in lieu of providing required off-street parking spaces.
The waiver of required off-street parking spaces shall be applicable only to the structure and use for which it is issued. New developments, or any construction generating additional square footage of floor space or increasing the floor area ratio, shall be required to comply with the parking requirements for said additions or obtain waivers. Certificates of waiver may be modified to include square footage as long as the overall thresholds as specified in section 602.10 of the Zoning Ordinance are not exceeded.
Fees for the certificate of waiver shall be paid in accordance with Chapter 35, Article VIII of the Code of the City of Miami.

SIDEWALK CAFE PERMIT APPLICATION
The City of Miami allows restaurants to obtain a permit to place additional chairs and tables within the sidewalk area.
Restaurants must obtain a sidewalk café permit before providing sidewalk service to patrons.
Please note that the City of Miami Department of Public Works has transitioned to an online sidewalk café application system.

Please submit the Sidewalk Cafe Permit Application to the City of Miami public works department in order to have outside seating located in the public right-of-way in Coconut Grove.
As this is an annual process, we recommend you locate and keep the following documents to streamline the permit application:
- Occupational License (Business Tax Receipt)
- Survey of the whole property
- Liability Insurance naming City of Miami as additional insured.
- Certificate of Use.
- Photos of Proposed Outdoor Furniture.

STREET BANNER POLICY & APPLICATION
The Coconut Grove BID’s Street Banner Program is a well established and highly visible marketing tool, which promotes and highlights upcoming special events in the Coconut Grove business district.
Fees: The applicant requesting to display a horizontal banner within the Coconut Grove special events district shall pay to the BID board a supplementary banner fee of the following:
$1,500.00 per banner for non local (Grove) businesses
$1,000.00 per banner for a local for profit business
$500.00 per banner for local nonprofit business
The nonprofit applicant requesting to display a horizontal banner within the Coconut Grove special events district shall pay to the BID board a supplementary banner fee of $500.00 per banner. This supplementary banner fee is in addition to the monies paid for any of the city services regarding banners.
Scheduling: Banners for City sponsored or co-sponsored events shall receive first priority. In addition, pre-existing events receive priority over new events. Banner applications shall be accepted on a first come first served basis. Applications will be accepted beginning October 1st for the upcoming fiscal year.
Duration: Each banner in the Coconut Grove special events district shall be allowed to remain for no longer than 30 days.
Conflict Resolution: All conflicts that arise over scheduling or location conflicts, banner content or design, eligibility or interpretation of these guidelines shall be resolved by the Executive Director or his designee.

FACADE IMPROVEMENT GRANT PROGRAM
The Façade Improvement Grant Program is a grant program of the Village of Coconut Grove approved
and funded by the Coconut Grove Business Improvement District (BID) annually. This program has
allocated funds for qualified projects to generally be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis.
Program Objectives
The purpose of the Façade Improvement Grant Program is meant to support the rehabilitation and
preservation of commercial property; encourage new business; and to retain, revitalize, and expand an
existing business.
Eligibility
The following persons are eligible to apply and receive grant funds:
- Property owners of commercial buildings within the Business Improvement District.
- Business owners or tenants of commercial buildings within the Business Improvement District
with property owner consent.
