Midorie

Midorie is a traditional Japanese restaurant that uses simple, time-honored techniques to offer an authentic sushi and donburi dining experience in the heart of Coconut Grove. Masterfully executed daily by highly trained sushi chefs, including Chef Masayuki and Chef Hiro Asano, with the focus on premium Donburi (rice bowls), Temaki (hand rolls), and multi-piece Nigiri platters.

The flavor profiles emphasize pure, clean, traditional flavors over heavy sauces or complex fusion trends. Seafood is flown in daily directly from the historic Toyosu Fish Market in Tokyo. Our restaurant honors Japan’s traditional culinary traditions through a signature all-day menu of upscale fast-casual donburi (Japanese bowl meals), omakase platters and a seasonal a la carte selection of sushi crafted with high-quality ingredients and seafood.

The seating is intimate featuring a 10-seat indoor counter and a 12-seat outdoor patio. A peaceful vibe surrounds diners creating a quiet serene oasis.

Conceptualized by Venezuelan-born restaurateur and art dealer Álvaro Perez Miranda. Miranda lived and worked in Tokyo for 15 years, managing over 70 unique food concepts. He also founded Miami’s critically acclaimed Hiyakawa and the ultra-exclusive Ogawa.

Expect a welcome a warm greeting with a synchronized staff chorus of “Irasshaimase!” upon walking in.
