International Visitors to U.S, Miami-Dade County on the Rise

The National Travel & Tourism Office forecasts a 6.5 percent increase in international visitors to the U.S. this year, predicting 77.1 million arrivals. Significant global events like the 2026 FIFA World Cup are also expected to boost travel here, reports TravelPulse, an online publication for professional travel advisors around the world.

In fact, Miami-Dade County is expected to host upwards of 7 million international visitors this year and next – many of whom will venture into our bustling business district.

Coconut Grove is one of Miami’s most beloved neighborhoods among international visitors. With its lush, walkable streets, charming boutiques, waterfront dining, and rich cultural history, “The Grove” offers a laid-back alternative to the traditionally high-energy hotspots across Miami-Dade County.

Popular with travelers from Europe, Latin America, and beyond, it’s the perfect place to experience Miami like a local—whether they’re strolling through its open-air markets, enjoying a yacht-side brunch, or exploring its vibrant arts and festival scene.

🌴 Why International Visitors Love Coconut Grove

1. Historic Charm + European Vibe: Coconut Grove has a walkable village feel with lush greenery, charming architecture, sidewalk cafés, and boutique shops—qualities that appeal especially to European and Latin American visitors seeking a more laid-back, authentic experience.

2. Proximity to Key Attractions  It’s close to: Downtown Miami, Vizcaya Museum & Gardens, multiple annual international sailing events, as well as Coral Gables, Little Havana, and Miami Beach —yet it offers a peaceful, less commercial alternative.

3. Strong Ties to Latin America
Given its historic Cuban, Bahamian, and Caribbean roots, Coconut Grove resonates with visitors from Latin America and the Caribbean, many of whom are familiar with its history or have family ties.

4. Boutique Hotels + Waterfront Dining: International visitors appreciate Coconut Grove’s independent hotels, yacht clubs, and marina-side restaurants—especially compared to high-rise-heavy areas. The recent renovations at places like Regatta Harbour and the Mayfair House Hotel & Garden have added more upscale appeal.

5. Cultural Events: Events like the Coconut Grove Arts Festival, Goombay Festival, and Grove Heritage celebrations offer a unique cultural experience that’s distinctly local—and highly attractive to curious, global travelers.

Who’s Visiting?

Canadians, Brazilians, Colombians, Argentinians, and Europeans (especially from the UK, Germany, France, Italy) often include Coconut Grove in their itineraries. Many international cruise passengers also visit the Grove during pre- or post-cruise stays in Miami.
