CERT Training is Key to Post-Disaster Safety and Survival in the BID

REGISTER NOW FOR CERT TRAINING, JAN. 18-19, 2025

There’s that moment immediately after a major storm passes when you slide open the front shutters, step outside, and realize two things: you survived a hurricane, and “now what?”

In the aftermath of a catastrophic disaster, the reality is clear: you and your neighboring may be on your own until help arrives. But you don’t have to face it unprepared. The City of Miami is empowering BID members with the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training program – a vital resource to ensure you’re ready to protect your business, your neighbors, and yourself when it matters most.

In order to equip yourself with life-saving skills and to be able to respond in a safe and organized manner, BID members are being called into service to attend the next CERT Basic Training, Jan. 18 and 19, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., at the Miami Fire Training Center, 3425 Jefferson St., Miami, FL 33133.

The goal is to have a resilient business neighborhood and be up to speed, trained, and prepared on the front end. To make that happen, we need local business owners who care about our community and who want to be actively engaged in working with us to ensure the safety and stability of our commercial district.

Past participants say that to become a trained CERT team member serving our local community is extremely empowering.

  • Emergency Communications
