Small business owners in Commissioner Raquel Regalado’s District 7 have an opportunity to receive critical funding through the Mom and Pop Small Business Grant Program. Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the grant, businesses must meet the following criteria:
✅ Must be located within District 7
✅ Must be a for-profit business
✅ Must not be part of a national or local chain
✅ Must have a physical address (P.O. boxes are not permitted)
✅ Must have been in operation for at least two taxable periods
✅ Must have a business bank account
✅ Gross revenue must be less than $500,000 per year
✅ Home-based businesses must have a Local Business Tax Receipt (BTR)
✅ Businesses that received funding in the past two consecutive years are not eligible this cycle
Additionally, sole proprietorships are not eligible, and business owners with multiple companies can only apply for one business.
How Grant Funds Can Be Used
Approved businesses can use the funds for:
✔️ Inventory, supplies, and business equipment
✔️ Marketing and advertising
✔️ Minor interior/exterior renovations
✔️ Professional services (accounting, business training, seminars)
✔️ Lease or mortgage payments for commercial spaces
✔️ Work vehicles registered under the business
However, the grant cannot be used for salaries, late fees, alcohol, tobacco, medicine, property taxes, or state and local business licenses.
