Harness Your Business’s Social Media Power

In today’s digital-first marketplace, social media is one of the most powerful tools available to local businesses—and the Coconut Grove Business Improvement District (BID) is putting that power to work for its members. As a member-driven organization, the BID amplifies local businesses, elevates the district, drives foot traffic, and advocates for shared success—while positioning Coconut Grove as a world-class destination for dining, shopping, and hospitality for both local patrons and visitors from across the country and around the globe.

Over the past year, the BID’s social platforms have seen strong growth across the board, reaching tens of thousands of followers and generating millions of views through strategic storytelling, timely promotion, and community-focused campaigns. From Instagram and Facebook to LinkedIn, YouTube, and X, the BID’s channels serve as a trusted megaphone for Grove businesses, events, and initiatives.

“Storytelling is everything right now,” says Kristell Hurtado, Marketing Director for the Coconut Grove BID. “When we share a business’s story through our platforms, we’re helping them reach new audiences, build credibility, and become part of a larger narrative about what makes Coconut Grove special.”

Hurtado adds, “We take pride in sharing real stories about our member businesses and events, so that people don’t just see it, they feel it. That’s why our community keeps growing, not just in followers but in amazing engagement.

Recent campaigns underscore that impact. Signature events such as Red, White & Grove generated more than 2.2 million views, while restaurant openings, retail activations, and Miami Spice promotions consistently drove high engagement and shares. Influencer collaborations further expanded reach, introducing local businesses to new customers through authentic, trusted voices.

Beyond promotion, the BID actively supports members with news sharing, social media spotlights, tailored content creation, strategic partnerships, and influencer outreach—tools that many small and mid-sized businesses might not otherwise access.

“By pooling resources and amplifying each other’s stories, our members benefit from marketing power that’s far greater than any single business could achieve alone,” Hurtado added.

BID members are encouraged to follow all Coconut Grove BID social platforms and share their latest news, milestones, and updates.
